Credit Tracking system for local vendors

Credit Application is a web application that provides you with a robust tracking system to manage credits that you give to your clients. It has a seamless admin panel and a user-friendly interface that is catchy, on point, and intuitively delivers information that is necessary to the user. It has cool lookup and search features based on location, credit period lapsed notifications, upcoming credit collection information, reevaluating budgetary investments, reminder notifications, and so on, all of which help you to give and collect credit amount as easily as butter without any hassle or mind-boggling bookkeeping.

Challenge and Responsibility

Giving credits to your clients as a gesture of good will so that they can pay you back later is often built on the ability to generate trust between the vendor and the client. Sometimes vendors find it more convenient to collectively pay back the money for the purchased goods at the end of a fixed interval. Some clients could also be long-time vendors or large purchasers of goods who may prefer such a deal. But at times, it becomes very tedious to manage and track these credits given for purchased goods. This becomes more challenging if the credit-giving factor is based on the short duration of payback, such as weekly payback for purchase of large volumes of items. Credit app acts as a one time ally to remedy these problems by acting as a smooth credit manager.

Client-Specific Requirement

Simply put, the need of the day for our client was to use an app that could manage their credit expenses and provide recovery tracking facilities. Clients needed a platform where they could onboard shops or customers as credit seekers. It was necessary for them to collect shop identification information such as name, address, contact number, etc. They needed separate staff member logins for their company. There was a requirement to also feed in information about the various products that they hold, which are usually sold to their customers.

Every logged-in staff member was to have the ability to input a credit given to their customer for a particular product they purchased. The credit given could have a due date or simply become a function of an additive credit for each product purchased. These credits were tracked and maintained. Staff members could search for credit by location, name, customer shop address, and due dates. If the credits were paid, then the logged-in staff number would have the ability to subtract the credit from the total pending credit or simply mark it as paid. It was a requirement to provide notification reminders for the upcoming credit payment period and overdue credit information to the staff members so that they could take action on them.

The client also needs a dashboard that could track the overall total credit given and the total credit paid and also provide a graphic representation of credit seeking and paying calculations based on locations, products, time periods, etc.

Technology Stack

A careful consideration of factors such as scalability, performance, security, and maintainability when choosing the appropriate technology stack for a web application development project.

Ruby on Rails

Sketch

PostgreSQL

Java Script

Chart.js

AWS Cloud

Project Learnings

The project gave great insights in building a cumulative and data intensive app which needed strong data handling, complex calculations and the effective usage of dashboards to relay information methodically and graphically.
